Free VST3 + AU plugin · Mac + Windows

Mouth clicks, gone in realtime.

Greenlit Mouth De-Click finds and repairs mouth clicks as your session plays — the same detection engine behind Greenlit's mastering pipeline, running free inside Reaper, Audacity, Logic Pro, GarageBand, or any VST3 or AU host.

Free with a Greenlit account — no card, no trial clock.

Antivirus flagged the Windows installer? It's a false positive — here's the proof.

Built from audiobook QC, not a preset pack

One knob, calibrated

Sensitivity runs 0–10. The 4.0 default is the calibrated setting our own pipeline masters with — double-click the slider any time to get back to it.

Hear exactly what it removes

Listen mode plays only the removed clicks, so you can audition a pass before you commit. The plugin frames itself red while it’s on — that signal is not your audio.

Surgical by design

Repairs touch only the clicks. Outside a repair your audio passes through bit-for-bit untouched, and bounces always render complete.

Nothing leaves your machine

All processing runs locally inside your DAW. No telemetry, no phone-home — your account only gates the download.

Questions

Is it really free?+

Yes — and it isn’t a trial. No time limit, nothing expires, no cut-down quality: the full repair engine, free, for as long as you use it. Create a free Greenlit account and download it — that’s the whole deal. The account also gets you a free ACX spec check on the web.

Does the free plugin lose anything now that Pro exists?+

No. The free plugin will always work exactly as it does today — free and Pro run the identical certified engine and ship the same build, the same day. Pro is for narrators who want more control: a Frequency slider to move the repair onto your voice, and Widen for clicks the default reach doesn’t quite cover.

What formats and DAWs?+

VST3 on macOS (universal) and Windows 10+ (64-bit), plus AU on macOS for Logic Pro and GarageBand. Works in Reaper, Audacity 3.2+, Logic Pro, GarageBand, and any other VST3 or AU host. No AAX yet.

What sample rates?+

44.1 kHz natively; 48 and 96 kHz sessions are supported too. Below 44.1 kHz the plugin passes audio through dry and says so on its face.

Does it add latency?+

It reports its full delay (400 ms) to your DAW, which keeps every track aligned automatically. Fine for editing and mixing; for live tracking, monitor off the raw input.

Will it change my narration?+

Repairs are span-scoped: only the detected click gets touched, everything else passes through bit-for-bit. Use Listen mode to hear precisely what came out.

My antivirus blocked the download — is it safe?+

It’s a false positive, and you don’t have to take my word for it. The Windows installer is digitally signed, and an independent VirusTotal scan across 40+ engines flagged nothing. New installers have little download history, so heuristic scanners flag them on reputation rather than on anything in the file. The public scan link and instructions for restoring a quarantined file are at greenlitaudio.com/studio/antivirus.

Need the whole chapter fixed, not just the clicks?

Greenlit masters your full audiobook, broadcast or voice over spot to spec — cleanup, loudness, and a submission-ready file.
